Airfares offered on Friday tend to be the cheapest, according to flight demand on Travelocity.ca in 2021. Purchasing your airfares on a Thursday or Saturday can also provide better value, however our advice if you’re looking to save money is to avoid booking on a Wednesday or Sunday. Our data shows that those two days have the highest ticket values on average, so keep this in mind if you’re browsing flight deals.
Frequent travellers may already know this, earlier in the week is often the cheapest time to fly. Flights departing on a Monday are the cheapest of the week. Since flights towards the middle of the week tend to be more popular, this causes the prices to rise. This is why, on average, airfares booked on Travelocity.ca in 2021 were most expensive for Wednesday departures.
Here’s the deal: It is typically possible to start comparing international airfares on Travelocity.ca up to 12 months in advance. However, it does depend on the carrier as not all airlines release their prices that far out. According to our 2021 flight demand trends, last minute planners can still bag a bargain with some of the cheapest fares appearing 2-4 weeks prior to their travel dates.

Sometimes staying in the thick of things can get overwhelming. So when considering your next visit to California, why not visit Fremont—a peaceful and beautiful Bay Area suburb with convenient access to the entire area via Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART)? The best airports to book your Fremont flights into are the Norman Y. Mineta San José Airport (SJC), Oakland International Airport (OAK), and San Francisco International Airport (SFO).
Getting from any of the airports to Fremont is a breeze. If you land in SJC, you can rent a car at the Rental Car Center across from Terminal B. If you land in Terminal A, take one of the airport's blue shuttles. As for public transportation, you can take a combination of buses to reach Fremont in just over an hour. At OAK, access rental cars via the free shuttle, which runs every 10 minutes. Alternatively, head over to the BART station across from Terminal 1 and ride to the Coliseum station, then transfer to the Fremont line. If your Fremont airfare takes you to SFO, ride the AirTrain Blue Line to the Rental Car Center from any terminal, or hop on BART. Take the Pittsburg/Bay Point line to Balboa Park, and then transfer to the Fremont line. Taxis and hotel shuttles also pick up at all three airports. Clusters of hotels can be found outside any of the region's airports, or check in to one of the Fremont hotels transportation services. Wherever you choose to stay, you'll be in a great position to explore the entire Bay Area. In Fremont, you can observe wildlife at Coyote Hills Regional Park, or reward yourself with a scenic view at the Mission Peak Regional Preserve. Check out the Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum to appreciate Fremont's old movie-making roots.
