I understand things change after 5 years, but this is so sad. The smell is horrid. The bed linens at least felt clean, but the rest was filthy, outdated and lacked a lot of upkeep. Our check-in gentleman was fast, knowledgeable and helpful. Upon checkout, it was over 40 minutes to check out and obtain a receipt. Normally I would just accept an email for my receipt, but for several reasons, I wanted to see it before I left the property. One example was as we waited 40 minutes to check out, there was a female representative who would allow people to check-in before the 3pm time as long as they gave her a $20 bill for a tip. I don't believe that should be allowed in the US at this time. Also, I love the fact that we have bilingual staff to help with guests and tourists. However, the fact that 2 of the staff--one at the front desk and one of the cleaning staff--spoke ZERO English was shocking. If I'm checking out/checking in/looking for where the closest restaurant is...I should be able to ask and be answered in English at this location. One final thing. There are 2 food trucks by the hotel that guests seemed to love. Other than that be prepared to pay for a taxi/Uber to get to other food options and sundry/walmart type places. One positive, the shuttle to the cruise port even on a day with a marathon and road closures went off without a hitch. $12 per person the to cruise port is fair. They offered free shuttle from the airport to the hotel which we appreciated.
