Airfares offered on Friday tend to be the cheapest, according to flight demand on Travelocity.ca in 2021. Purchasing your airfares on a Thursday or Saturday can also provide better value, however our advice if you’re looking to save money is to avoid booking on a Wednesday or Sunday. Our data shows that those two days have the highest ticket values on average, so keep this in mind if you’re browsing flight deals.
Frequent travellers may already know this, earlier in the week is often the cheapest time to fly. Flights departing on a Monday are the cheapest of the week. Since flights towards the middle of the week tend to be more popular, this causes the prices to rise. This is why, on average, airfares booked on Travelocity.ca in 2021 were most expensive for Wednesday departures.
Here’s the deal: It is typically possible to start comparing international airfares on Travelocity.ca up to 12 months in advance. However, it does depend on the carrier as not all airlines release their prices that far out. According to our 2021 flight demand trends, last minute planners can still bag a bargain with some of the cheapest fares appearing 2-4 weeks prior to their travel dates.

Flights to Aix-en-Provence, a historic city in the sunny South of France, will be just the beginning of some seriously leisurely days. Stroll alongside medieval walls and ancient Roman landmarks, enjoy fine wine and Provencal cuisine in local brasseries, and walk in the footsteps of Cezanne while admiring the landscapes that inspired the Aix-born artist. Get an Aix-en-Provence vacation package and discover the surrounding countryside with its picturesque hilltop villages, and other nearby towns and cities such as Avignon, Nice, and Marseille. You'll get a glimpse of it all from above as your Aix-en-Provence flights descend into Marseille Provence Airport (MRS).
Getting to hotels in Aix-en-Provence from MRS, approximately 10 miles away, is simple. You can drive yourself -- eight car rental companies have offices in the outside parking lots -- or use public transportation. A direct bus runs every 30 minutes from the airport bus station outside Hall 1 to the main bus station in Aix. You'll find a ticket desk and ticket machines between Hall 1 and Halls 3-4, or you can buy your ticket from the driver with cash. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. MRS has its own train station, along with an airport train shuttle to take you there from arrivals. You can call for shuttle service using the intercom behind the bus stop. There are no direct trains to Aix-en-Provence from the MRS station, so take the direct train to Marseille, then a connecting train from Marseille to Aix-en-Provence. There's a ticket desk and machines at the station; be at the platform 20 minutes before your scheduled departure. Alternatively, jump in a cab. Taxis run 24 hours a day, and you can pick one up outside the arrivals hall.
Fly to Aix-en-Provence and explore this "city of a thousand fountains," not to mention the medieval Aix Cathedral, and remarkable Musee Granet, with paintings by such artists as Degas, Renoir, Monet, and Van Gogh. Travelocity will get you the best deals on flights and accommodations, even saving you up to $537 when you book them both at the same time.
