Airfares offered on Friday tend to be the cheapest, according to flight demand on Travelocity.ca in 2021. Purchasing your airfares on a Thursday or Saturday can also provide better value, however our advice if you’re looking to save money is to avoid booking on a Wednesday or Sunday. Our data shows that those two days have the highest ticket values on average, so keep this in mind if you’re browsing flight deals.
Frequent travellers may already know this, earlier in the week is often the cheapest time to fly. Flights departing on a Monday are the cheapest of the week. Since flights towards the middle of the week tend to be more popular, this causes the prices to rise. This is why, on average, airfares booked on Travelocity.ca in 2021 were most expensive for Wednesday departures.
Here’s the deal: It is typically possible to start comparing international airfares on Travelocity.ca up to 12 months in advance. However, it does depend on the carrier as not all airlines release their prices that far out. According to our 2021 flight demand trends, last minute planners can still bag a bargain with some of the cheapest fares appearing 2-4 weeks prior to their travel dates.

As your flight arrives at Kona International Airport (KOA) and you disembark from the plane, chances are you'll feel like doing a hula dance. A tropical paradise, Kona is usually always dry and sunny, so it's the ideal place to sunbathe, surf, dip your toes in the cerulean ocean water, snorkel with manatees, play a round of golf or swim. At Kailua-Kona, you can shop or dine on locally caught ahi at one of the many restaurants while you enjoy the picturesque view of the surf as it crashes over the black lava rocks. After dinner, recharge your batteries with a bit of caffeine by enjoying a piping hot cup of locally grown Kona coffee.
Passengers on flights to Kona usually book hotels near Kona International Airport to rest and rejuvenate. Hotels typically offer free airport transportation services. The Hawaii County Mass Transit Agency Hele-On bus line has limited bus service to Kona for passengers arriving on Kona flights. Most major car rental companies have offices located away from the airport terminal. Ride one of the rental agency's free shuttles to the car rental company in order to get a rental car. To board the car rental agency's shuttle, go to the street located across from baggage claim areas A and B, where you will also find a bevy of taxis lined up curbside. Shuttle service counters are also situated in the baggage claim areas, where you can purchase shuttle bus tickets to Kona.
If you are dreaming of soaking up some sunshine in Kona, take a few moments to peruse Travelocity's vacation packages to Kona. You can save up to $537 when you book a hotel and flight at the same time.
Cheap flights to Kona and affordable hotel deals can make any dream vacation to the Big Island of Hawaii a reality.
