The resort is a slice of heaven. Every employee is pleasant, helpful and gracious. The bed was so comfortable with plenty of warmth. Food was good, numerous options. We went to a RIU in Aruba last year and this place is miles above in every aspect. We are middle aged and found many couples to talk to. You get to know many faces of other vacationers during your stay.

Delightful! $140 round trip taxi round trip best to complete journey. Grounds lovely: walking paths (w/feed-the-parrots), ecological and herb gardens , singing birds, water sounds from ocean and fountains. Housing for staff across the lake is likely a source of their happy. The fitness center had all equipment, oriented to take advantage of tropical views. Gym classes were excellent: Francisco for 8:30 stretch class, and local running tips. Antonio’s 8:30 yoga and 10am strength class. These guys guide you in the fitness center! I believe you can hire them for personal training. Restaurants all excellent. Pizza delicious. Breakfast had all the choices but for me it was oatmeal w/granola, fruits. Hot chocolate was outstanding, rich, just add a milk and maybe sugar and salt. Always open coffee/tea/ice cream shop w/pretty cakes has grab-able vitamin drinks always in the corner fridge such as almond turmeric drink, immunity drink, and green drink, etc Beach Chairs on sand or facing the pool abundant; towels too Coffee in room excellent if you bring in a bit of fresh milk to your room fridge. Your balcony over the garden is a respite. Quiet hotel rooms for quality sleep. Comfortable bed, pillows jacuzzi bathtub. Beach running on a rather sinking sand terrain going 2mi west to the river; 3 mi east (right) to Nicolodean hotel easier. Can’t swim in the ocean; pleasant to sit in the shallow water and get tossed about in crashing waves.

Hotel is overlooking ocean and has amazing pool area. Lots to do for entire day. Staff very attentive. Restaurants had great service and lots of options. The shower in room was amazing but leaked out on floor. Room smelled musty entire stay but very clean. The bathroom sliding door does not offer complete privacy allowing odors and sound to come through easily. Beautiful view from balcony with lovely sitting area. Bed was comfortable. They put out various arrangements on bed with fresh flowers and I got a surprise cake for my birthday. Ceiling did leak one night and maintenance was slow to address- caused a delay in our dinner plans, but was taken care of and did not happen again while we were there. Wished water was more accessible. They offered some bottled water but not full access and unable to buy anywhere. Tap water not recommended for consumption. Adult drinks available everywhere but pretty weak- would have paid extra for higher quality drinks and more beer options. You did have to access hotel app for everything- no menus or signage anywhere for restaurants- some closed without warning and cannot make reservations. The ocean was too rough to swim for our entire stay- red flags everyday. The pool area, while large and amazing, lacked adequate seating for quests. Signs say no reserving chairs but everyone did. Frustrating for many quests who just want to relax and enjoy but no place to go. Beware of beach scammers- we paid for things we did not request- we didn’t know.

Nightly dining for two people waited minimum 20 plus minutes and the servers took forever to take order and bring food.. Entertainment was definitely focused to 60 plus year old people. Wife went to bracelet making activity 5 min early and was turned away with only 10 people there said they were at capacity. Didn’t get my spa service as they were “booked” out. Went to Cancun resort and had a great time, will not be going back to this resort.

I have been trying to get in touch with the staff at this resort for over a month. My booking between Expedia and the resort is incorrect based on my interaction on site with both the front desk staff and manager. I’ve been charged for 4 nights I did not stay but then also paid also paid for at the Finest Punta Cana. I was assured at checkout that the resort would only bill Expedia for the one nights stay because I had to pay again at their other establishment. Expedia claims no one will reply from the Excellence Punta Cana to confirm so I can have my money returned. Terrible business after a face to face commitment to me.
