Everything was wonderful for the week we spent there. The staff was amazing. I teared up when we left. There were many hugs, and we said, "Until next time." They smile all the time and are so helpful. It was our first vacation ever together, and we are still smiling from the fun we had. The only thing I wish we could have had was cooler air conditioning and the ability to adjust the fan speed. We didn't sleep well at all because we were too hot. But I still give them 5 stars because they are amazing, and I am going back. But with my own fan, haha.

The property was visually quite nice. Amenities were clean and worked well. The cleaning staff are among the most hard working, swift and thorough that I've ever experienced. It would have been nice to have been given a quick overview of the activities, things to look out for etc at the front desk at the time of check in, but we figured it out eventually. The hotel itself is not a party property, but the RIU Party is walking distance away (which we liked). Ample pool space and chairs, even though the property was full. In a twist, the food at the specialty restaurants was not as good as the buffet (and the buffet really wasn't that good). Lots of room for improvement there, as well as with the wine and "prosecco" selection which was the most awful swill I've ever encountered. Bartenders were good, servers were friendly. Overall a comfortable stay, but be prepared to stick with hard liquor and to eat underseasoned and overcooked meats.

I was very impressed on how organized this resort is and how staff loved working there. The food & entertainment were amazing! I didn't like that our room smelled a little musty, came to the conclusion that the hotel was built closer to the ocean hence why our bed sheets and clothes felt damped.

What I liked about Riu Palace Macao- quiet, adults only property. Easy access to the beach. Plenty of chairs and shaded areas along the beach. Food was great at buffet and specialty restaurants. Appreciated the coffee bar. Drink service was excellent with plenty of options and attentive bartenders. What can be improved- lack of functioning faucets to rinse feet after leaving the beach. This seems like a simple fix that would improve guest experience and keep the pool and common areas cleaner. Also, too many large groups in specialty restaurants created unpleasant noise and slower service. Need a better system so that a party of 12 or more cannot monopolize the restaurant and ruin the ambiance and service. There were not enough tables for the breakfast service. I recommend they open one of the specialty restaurants for breakfast since the buffet area is not big enough to accommodate the number of guests at breakfast.
