I felt quite uncomfortable in this hotel and as if I was the only person staying there. I think it is more a conference hotel. Access via dilapidated doors to the rooms with no security. The rooms have old fashioned brown furniture in need of updating, but on the plus side it was very clean and very quiet as my room looked out onto the parking area rather than the road.
This has been an ideal place for a retreat, quiet place time to reflect upon my work and I have enjoyed their special English-full breakfast delicious food.
Awful motel style hotel. Like a run down estate block. Not even given soap to wash my hands! Too scary to call down and ask to be brought up. Hairdryer didn’t work so left with dripping wet hair. Reception couldn’t give a toss when advised. Should’ve been half the price.
Friendly staff to check me in and make the breakfast in the morning. Buildings looked like converted council flats. The elevator had a nasty musty smell to it that I never got used to. The room was adequate enough though there was only two towels with the bath one not much bigger than the hand towel. The door would not close unless you almost wrecked the toilet seat to do it.
The area was within walking distance of shops or places to eat. The bed was the best part of the stay and afforded me a good night's rest. Breakfast consisted of mediocre ingredients but was well cooked although there was no juice on hand or napkins with the cutlery.
Overall it was quite obvious that whoever owned the hotel was more interested in counting the costs of operation rather than the quality of the stay. If the latter was more of a priority then I would expect to see more people dining as a result of staying there.
This hotel is like something out of a horror movie. Had no other choice as there were limited other options in the area. Looks like an abandoned council estate (nothing wrong with council estates - the key word here being ‘abandoned’). Filthy bedding, a shonky surprise kitchen with a mattress in it, a broken lamp, damaged furniture, cleaning supplies and an old computer). The hotel fire escape route / door was located in our bathroom. Lots of dodgy people hanging around outside. We parked our car on a nearby residential street as the car park looked like a criminal’s paradise. Very run down, decor is stuck in the 60s. Security mechanisms on the communal entrance was broken. Stains all over the carpets. Uncomfortable beds with mattress toppers disguising the yellowing and stained mattresses. Just don’t stay here. It’s the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I think I’d rather sleep in a tent on a roundabout.
